Friday morning Chris and I went and picked out an outfit before he had to work at noon. I kept shopping with my friends Kim and Krista that afternoon and they decided to take a crazy picture of me to scare Chris into thinking I was going buck wild with the baby shopping...his reply, "I'm canceling the credit cards!":-)

We are so happy to report that we will be having a baby BOY just in time for Christmas! We just found out the gender last Thursday night and needless to say we were out shopping the next day! Since Chris has been out of town working for the summer, I had my Doctor write down the gender and seal it in an envelope so Chris & I could find out together. We opened the envelope Thursday night and we're so excited:) Chris says he "just knew" it was going to be a boy...lol. This will be grandbaby no. 15 on the Freeze side and no. 1 on the Shipley side. I am nearly 17 weeks now and I haven't had much trouble other than extra tired and it's getting a little tough to zip up my pants.

Well, we are winding down on the summer days and I can' believe it. Chris came to UT for two days last weekend and we had gone 9 weeks without seeing each other! Whew! We had a great time with a BBQ at my parents, spending time with my sister Emily and her family, hanging out and having "movie night", and just being together. Now we have nearly another week down so we are getting very close. I am just two weeks away from being done with my first semester of nursing school and then only three more semesters to go:-) We are looking forward to a fun August...

Also in June, one of my very best friends Camille Cutler came back to UT for a week (her and her husband moved to IN for dental school) and gave us an opportunity to throw a little baby shower...I love you and miss you Cam!

In June, we had a fun celebration on Father's Day with a BBQ cookout. Why is dad grilling on his day? "I know how to make them tender"...referring to the chicken and steak!

In May Chris headed out to Philadelphia to work for APX Alarms. Just 13 short weeks apart! Sacrifice...it should be worth it in the end:-)

In May I also started my nursing program. It's been very challenging but so fun to get to know all of the other students and make some new friends. How lucky I am to be apart of this program!

In May, Jillian Alofa Kesler was born, making me an aunt for the 12th time! "Alofa" means love in Samoa, where my brother in law Cameron served his mission (New Zealand/Samoa)

Then we said goodbye to 227 W 1458 S where we spent our first two years together. We loved Logan, our friends, our ward, and neighbors. Good memories!

In May, we both graduated from USU. Chris in Entrepreneurship and Accounting and me in Exercise Science. Chris' sister Lauren also graduated:-) Thanks to our parents, grandparents Shipley, Grandparents Harvey, Grandma Gourley, Eric and Kelly Shipley, Emily and Matt Walbruch, and Lauren, Cody and Courtney for being there so we could celebrate together! Thanks to all of our family for supporting and loving us!

In April, I finished up my Bodyworks class...while Chris spent time on USU's Entrepreneurship Week and his team won both of the competitions...drawing interest in their "Eccobox" from several prestigious business owners and investors throughout Utah.

After Spring Break, we found out that I got accepted to the nursing program at the U of U!

Chris bought me these pretty flowers and a Utah shirt and surprised me the next day.

In March, we had a great Spring Break getaway in Las Vegas...we stayed at the Palms and also got to see Kurt Shipley and the boys and Grandparents Shipleys, who were in LV for the bball tourney. We had fun riding all three rides at the Stratosphere and shopping at Las Vegas Premium Outlets.

Valentines Weekend Getaway

Valentines Weekend for us was a blast!!! It kicked off Friday afternoon with making homemade chocolate covered strawberries...YUM. We visited a few friends in the early evening and then headed to the Stake Valentines Party. I was asked to make a poster for the pictures and that was fun. We had some yummy lasagna and salad and socializing with friends.
We took off early Saturday morning and dropped Roxy off at her weekend destination:Ellie's Pet Hotel in Brigham City "Where its fun to be furry"...what? We continued down to Ogden where we did indoor skydiving at iFly. It was a blast and we can't wait to go again! We got some great video footage I will upload soon. After that we headed down to SLC and checked into the Hilton for the night. We had dinner at Takashi Japanese & sushi. We had read rave reviews online and decided to try it out because we like sushi. It really blew us away! We ate at the bar and were lucky enough to have Takashi himself to make our rolls. We finished the night off with a shopping stroll down Gateway with our friends Matt & Amanda Frandsen (you guys rock!). The next morning we had a fabulous brunch at Little America hotel...how spoiled! We planned this trip to relax and get away from schoolwork and it worked! Sunday afternoon we jetted down to Lindon to hang out with my family for a few hours...Perfect weekend!

Roxy has been growing and getting into all kinds of trouble. We found her in the laundry basket the other day and the pic was priceless to us! Hey, if she wants to do it that bad, go ahead! Also, here is her xmas outfit we got her this past xmas. We promised we'd never dress her, but it was too cute to pass up:-) Also, the top of the storage chest in our living room is her new favorite place to take a nap and it's cute to catch her sleeping there. We love her and whether she's running laps up and down our stairs or begging for food during our breakfast, we think she is the best!

So far February has been busy with school and Chris' work stuff. I have been busy promoting my Bodyworks internship class and snowboarding and Chris has had fun snowmobiling. We are looking forward to a stake valentines dance at the end of the week and also a rendezvous in SLC on Saturday with reservations at Mikado restaurant and the Hilton. I am looking forward to a trip to Denver to babysit my sister Cami's two girls for about five days from Feb 18-22. We are planning on spending the following weekend in Lindon with my family during my Dad's birthday weekend. We have a lot of fun coming up!

Christmas in Albuquerque

Christmas this year was with the Shipley's in Albuquerque, NM! We were able to spend about 8 days there. Some highlights included Chris' brother Jordan's Court of Honor, UNM v. NMSU basketball game, movies Marley & Me and Valkyrie, Dion's pizzeria, Christmas morning presents, the new Guitar Hero, and just hanging out!

We had so much fun in early December with family and friends at the Shipley Cabin in Star Valley, WY. It was great to be done with finals and relax! We went up on a Friday night with my parents who stayed until Sunday afternoon. We watched movies, worked on a puzzle, and ate yummy food. Then, Sunday ten of our friends came up to hang out and snowmobile. It was really fun. We hope to go back again sometime soon.

On our way home from the cabin, we took a detour to Grandma and Grandpa Shipley's home in Blackfoot, ID. It was great to spend the day with them. They were on a mission in England while we were dating and even during our wedding. This was our first opportunity to spend time with them as a couple and hear about their missionary experiences. We spent lunch and dinner with them and played a fun church game called "Blast from the Past". We love you G+G!

Freeze's 35th Anniversary

The highlight in NOVEMBER was a week long visit to Denver. We were able to have a wonderful and homemade Thanksgiving dinner, provided by my sister Cami. We also celebrated my parents 35th anniversary while we were there. Four of my five sisters were there and then, my sister Amy surprised us and flew in the day of the anniversary celebration. So all five sisters were together! It was really special to spend the evening with our parents and talk about all their accomplishments, challenges, and blessings over the years. Pictures to come!

ALSO in October, a new addition arrived for my oldest sister, Amy Arbuckle. This is Amy and Gary's fourth child. They adopted this beautiful baby boy and named him Will. We are very excited to have him!

Also in October, we had our traditional General Conference brunch with Mandi & Chase Ravsten. The Ravstens never leave you wanting more...it was delicious! Pancakes, hashbrowns, fruit, sausage, bacon, smoothies, muffins, and more! Hopefully we can keep this tradition going now that the Ravstens have moved to Denver. We love you guys!

On October 30th, Chris and I and another couple on the activities committe, Veronica and TJ Morton, threw a Halloween party for our ward. The theme was "Hollywood Red Carpet", so we asked everyone to come as their favorite Hollywood couple. Chris and I did Tim and Faith..as did our Bishop and his wife!!! We had couples as Mask of Zorro and Catherine Zeta, Posh and Becks, and even...JFK and Marilyn Monroe (a little scandalous). We had a blast with soup bowls, pinatas, musical chairs, name that tune, bingo, a cupcake contest, and more!

Park City Fun at the end of SEPT

The last weekend in Sept. we headed up to Park City with my sister Emily and her family, my Mom and Dad, and my Grandma Gourley. We were able to hit the outlets for a few hours, take a quick ride on the Alpine Slide and eat at the Wasatch Brewery. We like traveling to Park City because its a quick getaway but it feels like a vacation! Emily let me and Chris take her kids Kyle and Ellie down the slide with us. Chris and I had a little race going on, boys vs. girls. As Ellie put it, "Eat my dust, Kyle!"

Wow!! This fall is flying by! I can't believe its been over six weeks since I've posted. Chris and I have had busy schedules this semester. We've been busy with school, Chris' work, family, friends, and our new ward callings! We are the chairpeople of the activities committee and it definitely keeps us on our toes. We just finished up the big Halloween party which we had a "Hollywood red carpet" theme for. It was a blast! We are looking forward to a fun Thanksgiving in Denver with my family celebrating my parents 35th wedding anniversary. We are also headed to Chris' Grandpa & Grandma Shipley's cabin for a week after finals the first week in December (relaxation & snowmobiles!). We are also excited to spend Christmas in Albuquerque with the Shipley's! A lot of fun coming up for us. I promise to include some recent pics soon of a fun weekend in park City, parties with friends, Roxy!, my new nephew Will, pumpkin carving, the Halloween party, and my Dad with Marie Osmond?? Coming soon!!

The weekend following Labor Day weekend we got to have a bunch of fun in the water. Friday we got to go wake boarding with Chris' uncle Eric Shipley on his boat. We went to a reservoir only a few minutes away at Hyrum State Park. It was a blast. Chris did great and it was my first time so it was a learning experience...thank goodness for those helmets! Eric even had some music jamming...

Labor Day Weekend in ALB

We had a great Labor Day weekend in Albuquerque, NM. Chris had stayed in KY for an additional week and then met me (I flew!) in New Mexico. We had so much fun with his family. Highlights would include a yummy dinner at El Pinto restaurant, boys golfing, girls day out shopping, a huge 7-lb birthday cake (chocolate!), swimming and BBQ in the backyard. We also were able to visit both a Physician Assistant's school and nursing school in the area. We forgot our camera, so we'll have to post the pics of the weekend at a later date. We love you Shipley family!

Also during our last week in KY Chris took a day off of work and we spent a fun day together! We went to the Louisville Slugger museum in the morning and then we headed off to Indianapolis for the day. We went to visit my Freeze grandparents' mausoleum that is there. My grandma just passed away this last March but I wasn't able to be at the internment because it was during our finals week at USU. It was a beautiful cemetery and it was such a special experience to be able to see that before we left the area. We travelled about another ten minutes to see the house my grandparents raised my Dad and their three other kids in on Lincoln Blvd. Afterwards we did some shopping and had some dinner. This was our last fun thing we did in "Kentuckiana"

On our last week in Kentucky, we did some traveling to visit some places that are memorable in the Freeze family. We went to my Aunt Julie and Uncle Steve's, to visit my old neighborhood in Jeffersonville, IN, and we also drove past my Grandpa Freeze's furniture factory in downtown Louisville.

After receiving several death threats from fellow bloggers, here is a new post. However, I wouldn't really call it NEW, because nothing has happened!! The past few weeks Chris has been busy working and I was madly trying to finish my online credits. Since then I have been working on my applications for nursing and PA schools. Also, I've been doing several of my "projects"...just funny things I like to do like looking up fun stuff to do in Logan when we get back, finding new recipes on allrecipes.com, basically being a nerd!!! :-) I have had fun hanging out with my girlfriends out here--Ashley, Celeste, Courteney, Heather, Jamie, Karly, and Tawni. Last night we had a fun girls night with dinner and a movie...we went to see Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants2. For some reason, we didn't get any pictures of the night (haha), but it was really fun. And I've also had fun with my new girlfriend...our puppy ROXY. She is so sweet. She's getting so big! I'm getting ready to fly home this upcoming Thursday and she is flying with me. I had to go get her her own bag to ride in! I'm excited to see my family and also to get back to Logan. Chris is going to stay here in KY for an additional week to finish up his job. We are also going to Albuquerque, NM to see the Shipleys over Labor Day weekend. I started packing up all our stuff today...it's a little sad because it seems like we just got out here! I didn't have any recent photos but I thought I would put up a few from our engagement and wedding because I've never posted any of those. I tried to pick three with the best background.

We are so pleased to announce we are the proud owners of a new little puppy! She's a sweet little girl. Only nine weeks old! She is a boxer mixed with a jack russell terrier. She will grow to be about 25 pounds. We adopted her from a place called LIFEHOUSE for animals in Frankfort, KY. She had two little brothers who looked just like her. We chose her because of her sweet and playful personality. We also loved the little white spot on her nose that was missing from her siblings. She is so playful and gets so excited to meet new people. Her name is Roxy!

I just got back Thursday from my trip to UT to attend my grandpa's funeral. The viewing was Monday night and the funeral was Tuesday. They were really lovely services. He looked so peaceful and we all agreed that he had his signature little smile on his face. He was a wonderful husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, grandpa and great-grandpa. All but two of his grandchildren were there! Some of my favorite memories of Grandpa include: working with him in his yard, picking raspberries and cherries, him coming to my basketball games, to my prom-night send-offs, staying the night at their house, his golf-cart, him picking up our walnuts and canning them, and him stopping by our house just to say hi. Just this past May Grandma and Grandpa came to Logan after my finals and gave me a ride down to Lindon to my parents house. Chris had already left to KY. It was so nice to be able to spend that time with him. Grandpa treated me to Wendy's on the way home. I love my Grandpa Gourley. I also look forward to many more fun times with Grandma Gourley. What a wonderful and strong woman she is.

I'm headed to Utah tomorrow to be with my family. My Dad called me Friday morning and let me know my Grandpa Gourley had passed away that morning. He was an amazing grandpa...not many people had a "gramps" like him! I don't think he missed a single highschool bball or soccer game of mine. Him and my grandma made several trips with my family. He was at my wedding. He just made you feel like you were the greatest thing in the world---I will write more about this later...I love you gramps!

This past week instead of going to lunch, the whole office of salesman went bowling. About 40 guys and a few wives. The bowling alley had its own grill and they made us a bunch of pizzas for lunch. We bowled three games and it was fun. Cody's sister Kenzi was in town to visit her boyfriend Brenton. Celeste's pregnant belly almost made it too hard for her to bowl...j/k she's like five months and you can hardly tell...that's a compliment!! There was a prize of $100 to the top bowler.

Weekend Denver Trip June 2008

The weekend in Denver was a whirlwind! My sister Jessica, my nephew Beau, and my parents picked me up at the airport. I went with my other sisters to the Danskin site to pick up our race materials. The next day was Sunday and the highlight was the triathlon. Later that day we went to the fountain park and watched all the kids play. Two of my sisters, Jessica and Cami live right in Denver and they both have two kids. My sister Emily (who lives in UT) was also in town for the triathlon and she has three kids...so it was fun to see them all! Monday and Tuesday were filled with shopping outings and fun together.

I went to Denver the last weekend in June to compete in the Danskin (Women's Only!) Denver Triathlon. Not only did I finish it...but I crossed the finishline with two of my sisters, Emily and Cami. It was so fun! It was the perfect day for it--and the scenery was beautiful in Aurora, CO. I looked forward to the tri since I signed up for it in March...and I can't wait to do another one!
